Layday at Atlantic Seapath, Wrightsville Beach, awaiting Sue's (the First Wench!) arrival. Temperature soars above 70°, sunny.
Apparently yesterday and today have been terrible - in Toronto. Air Canada, imho one of North America's worst airlines, was actually giving flight changes at no charge. Sue's flight is delayed, she won't arrive until about 10 this evening, instead of 1 pm. On the bright side, it gives me more time to tidy the boat!

Another layday, shopping and such to do, plus get Sue settled onto the boat. Weather is nice, but not as warm.
Nothing like putting more stuff onto an already overloaded boat. But somehow, Sue has made it all disappear! How does she do that? I spent all day yesterday and there was still stuff in view.

Cold today, very windy out of the west. I decided we would remain here again, as tonight the temperatures will be dropping to less than 20° tonight - and that's fahrenheit, not Celsius. Just too cold for comfort to be anchored out.
Temperatures will be going back into the 50s tomorrow, so leaving then makes more sense. As well, we'd have to leave before seven to get any sort of reasonable tide on the Cape Fear River - tomorrow gives an extra hour, and by leaving from Carolina Beach, I'll pick up yet another hour. The current on Cape Fear River is simply brutal, there's no way a slow sailboat can traverse it with any degree of ease without the tide in its favour.
This decision will mean Christmas Eve in Southport - ought to be lovely, it's a pretty southern town, the first of what I consider the four most charming - Southport, Georgetown, Charleston and Beaufort SC.
